Our staff team
The Management Team
We’re really passionate about childcare and love working with children.
Sunbeams has two managers who share the role, each working 3-4 days per week: Alison, a qualified teacher and Kirsty, an early years teacher.
Making a great team, they are highly organised and manage the staff and day-to-day running of the nursery with strong leadership skills.
Our deputy manager, Beth has an Early Childhood degree and assists the managers, helping them to deliver high standards across the nursery.
Our nursery proprietor, Jackie, has over 30 years of experience in education and Child Development and holds Early Years Professional Status. With regular contact to support management and the staff team, she loves to get involved with the children or roll her sleeves up to help as necessary.
Early Years Practitioners
Our qualified early years practitioners are based in one of the 3 rooms and are the key people. This means that they have overall responsibility for the children’s care, learning and development.
We have a friendly staff team who are passionate about caring for children and having fun at Sunbeams. We are a close-knit group and staff will regularly get to know all of the children across the age groups so your children will always see a friendly face.
All staff are DBS checked and complete an induction programme to ensure safer recruitment and compatibility with our nursery.
Charlie the Dog
Our chocolate brown Labrador, Charlie was 1 year old in May 2020. Charlie has been visiting the nursery a few mornings each week since attending puppy training classes.
With a lovely, gentle nature he enjoys watching the children play, playing with his toys and being fussed over by everyone.
The children are learning how to help look after Charlie and especially enjoy taking him for walks.
Professional Development
We are committed to supporting both the wellbeing of our staff and their continuous professional development by providing training opportunities throughout each year.
Involvement in regular supervision meetings and social gatherings help staff to work together as a great team.
